This salmon derby will be one of the best chances to win it big with few contestents. They are expecting between 300-500 entries, so chances to win a derby with so few entries for such a large prize is pretty spectacular. Tickets are $20 per day per person or $50 for all three days. Tickets will be sold at the Columbia Fuels Fuel Dock one week prior to the derby as well as during the derby. They are also planning to sell tickets at the Boat Basin dock every morning of the derby from 5-7 am. In order to qualify, every person on the boat must have a derby ticket, no exceptions.

This is a great derby and is run by some great guys putting back into a great cause. Good chance to get out and enjoy spectacular fishing and have a excellent chance to catch lots of big salmon and perhaps even come home with a big payday!

Hi Everyone, the big fish are going past right now. Two days ago 2 45 lb salmon and one 39 were weighed in. I am not sure what was weighed in yesterday. Most of the big fish are being caught at Southwest corner and the Starfish, however some are being caught in closer at the Lighthouse Bank. 3.5 and 4 inch spoons are working best, but people are catching on Plugs, large Tomic spoons and of course, hutchies. I hope to see you out this weekend!

Captain friend of mine in Ucluelet pulled in a 46 lbs on a charter today. The big ones are in...time to hit the water in Ucluelet. I am guessing a 51 lbs is going to win the derby this weekend.
