Some nice steelies around before the high water in the Stamp last month. We caught them in all parts of the river with the majority being in the lower on roe. Got to try out the new underwater camera.......pics came out not bad for trying to get the fish to pose nicely.

Another summer & fall steelhead season is winding down. This was as good a year as I can remember on the upper Stamp. There were a lot more chinook spawning this fall than the last few years and now good numbers of coho are spawning and digging up plenty of spring eggs. The steelhead have responded with their usual vigor and aggressiveness providing double digit hook ups on most days with the best day for us being 22 fish. Pink & white beau mac jigs are now starting to take over as the lure of choice, but the single egg is still hammering them in certain spots. We hooked a dozen fish yesterday, split evenly between eggs & jigs. Saw a LOT of nice fresh fish spread throughout the upper river proving that they are still coming in. Definitely still worth getting out on the upper river until the first big push of winters shows in the lower......A few pics......
