Ok i was wrong, the run is stronger than ever, a little deeper for us at 99 feet but lots around. We landed 11 and should have got our 16b but two of our guests caught there first salmon ever, so a few extra were lost, no biggy it was lots of fun.The in laws are here from vernon and the canning is in full swing

btw i saw four chinooks at clutesi cleaning table, seems around ten mile, so get ready

was out yesterday morning...

Fished near Nahmint, only managed 9 in the tub. We lost about 20... I guess thats what we get when we try and teach the wives how to run the rods and net, haha!

Good fun had by all however!

Seems to be a shade slower out there now... still tons of fish around, but not as hot and heavy for us anyhow!

Agree with Banger on the volume of fish out there. We fished Cook Creek Meadown to 10 mile this weekend. Sounder is covered with fish sign and as Lance said they seem to be deeper. We're running our balls at 73 & 77. Started a bit shallower but were picking up Mackrel on the top lines so dropped down a bit. Nice fish still, some babies, but most in the 6-7lb range. Limits both days, but today was a bit slower. They are hitting, but not sticking and the current in front of 10 mile is running so hard in the morning that it is hard to get your speed right. Beautiful weather with the outflow breeze that kept the chop down until later in the day. Watched people catching fish virtually all day long out in front of camp. The commercial openings will put a dent in them, but with the amount of fish on our sounders, I can't see that having a significant effect. It's been on hell of a season, certainly our best so far.

Hopefully the springs will be in soon and we can play some more.

Was out today (sorry ididnt't warn you in advance)was definately a banner morning . we fished from 6:30 till 10am. following some of the previous sugestions we went oiut expecting fish to be in the 70-110 range and they were for the most part. We nailed all our fish at 95ft but most at 100 going back and forth was the ticket. late morning we talked to many who had 0  and when asked they were at the 50-70 range and getting almost nada on the hits. Biggest challenge we had was keeping off the little 14" sockeye that we couldnt seem to keep off our lines. Never asaw a mackeral although the lady doing the fisheries count said 90% had said they were releasing. Like the previous post if you went shallow you got'm. (60' or shallower) Sad to report I actually lost my first 3 fish of the year :( was 100% up till today guess I was rolling them 7-11 's to often 8-) spent most of the morning accros from CC to the next point. Ain't it fun when there bit'n :P

The papermill is now closed to sockeye/rec fishing to protect chinook's entering the system.

Damn 63,000 fish in 32 hours sounds like a clean up fishery to me, guessing they hit their escapement target.

First thought: We can't possibly let TOO MANY Socks up the system.

Second Thought: Gotta Shut Down the Close River Fisheries, Might catch TOO many of the DEPLETED Spring Run (OK Sorry :? we let 7 Years of netting Happen TO MAKE THEM THAT WAY).

Instead, "we'll" LET 17 seiners, AND 85 gills HAPPEN.

Remind me again about those Poor Picked On Springs...

like nOW.
