Looks sweet we are heading out there this weekend what where you using? and what depths? My buddy was out last weekend to but was targeting halibut and said it was slow. They switched up to salmon and did well too, but said they where deep, keeping in mind they where 15nm off shore, they used this lure called the b2b.

Delayed report from last weekend...

Lots of fish being caught out there, The Wall, Kirby, Cree, etc... saw quite a few in the 20's.

While we weren't fishing for hali we picked up 6 springs at the wall, 8-14 lbs. All caught on the 334 Rosco w/ green flasher at 120-130 feet.

Fish seem to be at a wide range of depths, others doing well at 55-65 feet like albernifisher's report above. It seemed that everyone fishing salmon caught something. Good time to get out there and I imagine it will only get better from here.

Back out there friday night... will try to have a more timely report next time.

Back out to Barkley this weekend... fish were harder to find than last weekend.

We fished the Whistle Buoy, The Wall, Diplock, and Pill Point and had some action at each but nothing that great. We kept 3 fish, biggest was an 11 lb nut case from this morning. It hit mid way between Pill and Diplock. Took a crazy amount of line off the start and got my knuckles wrapped more than a few times :D thought we had a big one... nope just an incredibly pissed off fish

Lots of bait at The Wall and Pill Point. Saw a huge ball at 250 ft at Pill. My wife said go for it and drop it down there... sure enough we got one.

People we talked to who fished the same areas had similar results.

Had some nice weather and a good weekend.

We fished kirby for salmon and didn't get a bite nor a sniff, we switched to the wall and got a 18lb spring within the first 5 min and then lost one after that. We went hali fishing saturday morning got two 15lb we where about 12 miles out. Sunday we only got 6 miles out tried for hali with no luck switched to salmon had a huge hit but the salmon ran my line out right to the backing then turned ran back at the boat and i couldn't keep up and lost it.

Fishing seemed to be slow got the salmon on the oil slick hoochie 120' down with a 42" leader with green hotspot flasher. It was the only gear that was working for us, got the hali on herring. There was huge bait balls all over the place.

got a double header this afternoon, 15 and 18, nice fish. One on the Rosco and the other on the Money.

Heading up Bamfield way early am. First trip back since the Skunkathon I undertook during the Loggers Derby. Nice to see some reports coming in, we're hoping to start the day on the outside. Any suggestions on depth or gear?? I'm hoping to drag at least one line near bottom. My poor freezer is devoid of white meat. ;)
