I was at Nitnat Sept 10th weekend and water was very low and there were more fishermen then fish in the river. Also was a net across the river until around 9 AM? n Not sure what that was all about.

Native net, can't really complain about native nets when the white guys are snagging the shit out of everything in the river.

Its too bad about that river, its a fun place to fish but the rednecks ruins everything for me, I can't go there anymore.

Yea I agree, someone said it was actually the hatchery getting brood stock because water was too low for fish to get up to the hatchery?

I wonder even wonder why snagging and indian nets even make a difference after seeing the way commercial fisheries operate. Like in this video seine boat takes 35000 fish in one set. And you the recreational guy cant use barbed hooks

That could be true, it just seems odd that they would have it out all night(I assume) and pull it early in the morning. was it a gill net?

I also thought most hatcheries use a beach seine, which you would see the hatchery workers

i've never fished cutts there. i live in victoria and only get up there once or twice a year. i don't want to give away any spots but there are some good spots upstream from the hatchery. there is a few good trails to go on.
