A friend of mine nailed a number of coho there this weekend as well as a 15lb spring. I have also heard of a few chum being caught at Greensea.

Keeping my fingers crossed. Hoping to give it a go this weekend.

Fished Greenseas Sunday morning and threw out all chum gear hoping to get some bright ones but the coho and pinks were suprisingly abundant. Landed four fish and lost 5 others, half pinks half coho all around 10 pounds and all but one was wild. All down 70 - 90 feet on pink squirts and googly eyed chum thing.

So no doggies showing up at browns yet?

Looks like the hook did the bleeding on the pink for you no need to rip the gill haha.

Also look at all the sea lice on that pink, damn.

No doggies yet, but it was this weekend last year we caught our first dogs of the year. I had a 24 pound white spring hooked the same once except the tip actually dug down into its nose and i had to rip the eye of the hook through the fish's eye. Luckily i wasnt throwing that one back. Take a look at this licey mess

Weird, all the pinks I caught this year were clean or only had 1-2 on them. I think we were hooking up with fraser river runs though on the E.C.V.I that we were fishing I don't know if that has any impact on the amount of sea lice fish have on them.

Is there any fish farms near browns bay or in that general area that the fish pass threw on the way to or from open ocean?

But yeah that's pretty gnarly. I guess i'll be heading out later in october then if no doggies are showing up in numbers yet.

Hey Tufnail, great to see you are still around and fishing!
Maybe it is just me being blind but I've missed your posts lately!

The first thing I noticed on the pink was the lice.
Someone asked if there are any farms near that area.
I have slept on board at BB and a large boat aka smalll ship will tie up to the processing plant before dark, then in the morning it has gained over 5' of freeboard, hmmm.
Also, last week I had the opportunity to fly over the area and you'd truly have to see it to believe just how many farms there are...we took pix of many, and they aren't small!
It seems as though every %*^$*&^ bay has one or two.

Thanks for the updates, we're up there next week with the family - that's what my wife thinks, really I am just scouting ;-)

Your PE teacher is derbying again this year...go give him some tips.

Smiley.

3 hours this evening with 2+ foot chop and 20-25knot wind. Lost one, brought a shaker to the boat. Parked the boat and headed home for a drink. Back at it again tomorrow thru Monday. See what happens.
