Thanks, that reminds me I need a new flashlight, after some cheap thieving bastar........ took mine after he used it to help himself to some of my gas....................

More bad news, a friend had his boat cleaned while sitting for repair in the Miracle beach area. Broke into the cabin, took downriggers, 4 rods, old laptop, TV, binocs, you name it. Almost made me puke when I heard.

Second time fishing a Friday evening, two weeks in a row. I have nothing but broken gear to show for it. Spool on my 4000 blew and the rob holder on my Scooty rigger broke. Most damage I have had in years. Well off to try again today hope I do a bit better.

Any one have a spare spool for a 4000?

They were pretty THOUROUGH!

and so they should have been with you. You look like a very shifty character! Or maybe it's the company you keep!

Two fish in nine hours of chum fishing today. Only one to the boat which we released. Really slow day for all boats it seems. I couple guys with a few at the cleaning table. But they were trully the lucky guys. Most people got one fish if that today.

Try again tomorrow if I can find somone to go with me. Otherwise it's Monday before I am up there again.

Fishassassin, did you not get out sunday?
there was a SOLID bite for us in deepwater today :D
makes up for the medeocre saturday, in fact i dont even remember saturday
Image
First two doggies of the year taken friday evening on a Quadruple header! Lost the other two due to only having two people on board then had a triple header not too much later but all were soft biters. Only got out for 3.5 hours though. All 50 - 80 feet.

Sunday was Hot for us personally with the majority of boats getting 2-5 fish on board. We managed to go 9 For 12 all before 11 am! :D Three fish were 7 pounds but the rest were all 11 pound clones. had one triple and three double headers. Lures of choice were Googly eyes w/ red hooks and regular pink squirts, all 55-80 feet but with most fish staying down deeper.

Nice scrappy Chrome dog.

My dad landed this chromer during a triple header :D I lost one and landed one during that process aswell.

These are the seven that made it home, we kept running into people who like free fish oddly enough.

As GLG and I said to you on Sat. we left you a couple for the next day of fishing. You are welcome.

I hope you did the same for me as tomorrow I and Tmit22 are heading out for a day of practice. Apparently I need it.

Maybe I am not the only one. Please remind me Rob what did I see you with on Sat. at the cleaning table or were you as well saving everything for today and for me tomorrow. :D

Judging from those pictures the water couldn't have been any nicer, very few days it's almost like glass.

That bottom doggy looks like a hog.

I thank you for your generousity Fishassassin, between the two of us saturday we made sure that there will be a sustainable fishery for those who wish to take part in the future

Saturday was for sure a practise day for me
until about 8 o'clock this morning i forgot that rods moved from that very still and bent position, nearly died of shock ;)

i left you three sore lipped fish today aswell as the thousands of doggies milling around inside the boundary in Deepwater bay..oh wait native food fishery decided they needed to go do a few seine sets in the bay. Thats traditional methods of harvesting right there.

The Sooke Post did however venture in to ask very politely why they were fishing where they shouldnt. There was lots of locals were taking pictures and video taping it with intent of informing fisheries but i doubt much will come of it.

the least the seiner could have done is not plow STRAIGHT through the pack of 50+ boats all fishing in one cluster. But who i am i to judge?

Happy Thanksgiving.
