I thought the boundary at Deep Bay was only an area for the Oak Bay Marine guides. I didn't know the natives got to fish inside the boundary as well.

We need to start reporting these seiners. What are we all waiting for? I think reporting them to the boy's on 16 or 71 is the way to do it, or the RCMP.

Loading the truck and on my way to Browns Bay.

Thanks Rob,

I was able to find the three fish with ripped lips that you left behind yesterday with in 5 min's of getting the lines in the water. Great day of fishing after getting them onboard. Had lines going every where. Coho and chum one after another.

What a change from Sat.

Saturday a.m. , afternoon, and p.m. = no blood on the boat!
Daughters blamed me for having a Lucky before fish in the cooler
A bit embarassing after the crew of 15 that came with me on 3 boats all did really well!
Found out that they were catching them around 90 to 100'
Sun a.m. and afternoon = no blood again!!!
Saw RT at the dock but he wouldn't give me his lucky shirt!
Sunday p.m. = all 3 ladies refused to come so just me and the boy went out.
Got him to crack the beer for me, superstition or what?
Anyhow, we each got one BIG chum, hardly fit in the old Scotty net.
Monday a.m. got one girl out with me and we hit 2 quickly at Plumper, I love catching fish while others scream by to the 'hot spot' :D
Again one in the mid teens and one typical one of about 8lbs.
Secret this a.m. seemed to be bringing the kicker to almost dead stop then back to slow, both hits followed this immediately.

A calm and sunny weekend (should have brought a hat for the bald spots!), the clubhouse really makes it nice for a family.

What's up with the RV site Nazi???
Should do a Seinfeld episode on that caretaker...

All practiced up and ready for next weekend.

See you there!

Smiley.

Thats a good sockeye trick especially that i have used with some success for chum, try changing speeds on your turns to really change your gears action in hopes of teasing the fish that are just following your gear into biting. Works great with springs too.

I am still using the same hook. The only thing I have noticed is the depth. 80-110 feet the past few days or weeks should I say. Normally I fish chum at 40-70 feet.
