Tired of paying four or five bucks for a couple of the Scotty d/r line bumpers? Dollar stores sell cheapo paddle and ball (6 in pack) sets for one to two bucks. Cut each ball in half with razor knife. For braid d/r line drill out the hole slightly or use needle to thread line thru. Wire will go thru without any mods. Voila, 12 cheap line bumpers that work fine.

Update & improvement. Rather than drilling them out, which is time consuming and messy, Take a hank of thread and large needle, pierce through, remove needle, tie a loop above the rounded end of the ball. When you need to use it, just pass the braid through the loop and pull it through. Voila - quick and easy to rig
