Nice talk their Tightlines.
Real fisherman don't care about such things.
They just go out there and enjoy the sport.

I liked the video's though they were a bit long. Just wondering, do you guys think there's a limit to how many fish you would catch and release in a trip? I mean I've heard some guys say that they don't believe in catching 20 fish and letting them go since some will get injured and die needlessly. Personally I don't agree with people getting greedy with fish. One charter guy's article said'' catch your limit and get off the water''. Maybe that's taking it too far for some guys but, I think it's something to think about, especially if it's your livelyhood. I think people should be getting a lesson in ethics from guides as well as techniques. My thoughts.

I kinda have to agree with you leeping as much as we both might take flak for it, whether or not it's a guided trip or personal once you limit either more to a different species of fish or get off the water.

I live in port and sometimes a couple times a year i'll head out to nootka sound with a buddy or two and that's a long days drive but if we get into the fish and limit we'll either target groundfish or get off the water and enjoy something else. Other times we go north of campbell to get into sockeye/coho/pinks that is a good drive too but once we limit we don't C&R 20-30 fish all day we pack up and head home.

What happens if you bring a fish to the boat and it's gushing from the gills, either way you are now officially over your limit because it's going to die and you can't go throwing one in the cooler back into the water to keep it.

But it's personal opinion I realize some people pay big money to catch fish on charters but maybe there is something else to do after you limit.

But again who cares because there are commercial fisheries out there that catch ten's of thousands of chinook as by catch and throw them back dead every year.

To each his own /flamesuit on lol

To stay on topic though Moisture Missle's video was probably the best ive seen out of the thread and I have watched it a couple times over some that I didn't even finish. Maybe it's just see'ing a bunch of guys have a awesome time but it had something the other video's didn't.

No better sound when fishing than hearing the spool of a reel.

Maybe I misread your comment or your point and thought you were slagging fisherman that use level winds. If that was not your intent then disregard my comments.

Thanks for all the comments guys. About the level winds, there are a few reasons we use them most of the time. One, when you are reeling in that many fish, your arm gets pretty tired, especially for people that only come out once a year. Two, most people like level winds better, so the customer is always right. Some guides presure the clients in to doing something they don't really want to do. Obviously I would rather have the fish in the boat as well. For experienced fisherman this isn't a problem. Its all of the guys who don't fish too often.

Gerry, last August was pretty sick. We did have days like that in 2009, however not so many days all in a row. Generally we don't catch and release this many salmon. I always tell the guys if we get a bleeder, its going in the tub. On this morning we didn't get very many bleeders, its just the way it goes sometimes. I don't believe in killing fish, I don't care what the commercial guys do. Obviously the clients pay good money to come out there, but with a tub full of big fish, who can complain. This just happened to be a memorable morning on video.

Thanks for your comments guys!

Cheers All,

SalmonEye: I have had too many days that I wish I had made a video (a lot of them last year) so that I could have relived the memories. However, without a doubt there were several days last summer that will go into my all time TOP 10 days and to try and explain it to others is futile. "Sick" just doesn't even begin to cover it. As for your professionalism...your company is one of the tops and your professionalism is without question.

Wishing you the best of this season and more memories for next season!
