So the neighbor won a free charter out of Victoria last year in a local derby. Kind of ironic as he guides as well ... He put a 4 man crew of salties together for the ride. We took that ride Saturday.................




First duck fart and we were off. The tides were on the ugly side today so a early start was necessary




Perfect day for a cruise..




Got even better when this guy showed up..

We got out and set the hook.... Still pretty nice out




We weeded through the couple doggies that came out to play.. that didn't take long....

Soon after...



This guy had some heart!



It came over the gunwale without consequence.... nice chicken.

Since I was playing with the cam... no play pics for me.... I noticed something was nibbling at the salmon head, the guide noticed as well...we were the only ones..... then the rod stopped the minute bounces that it was doing and laid heavy. I gave the line a quick tug from just before the eye.....That was enough to make it mad and take off..... sinking the circle hook... Game on..

Turned out to be......




Right after that another rod bends.....




Another 40 jumps in the boat... 3 fish for a couple quick hours...



Not done yet.....

The tide picked up to the point of being un-fishable..... Its not even nine yet... We pulled anchor from probably the farthest South you can fish in Canadian waters

Another scenic run......



We dropped the gear down on the flats.... again didn't take to long...



Some silver blood in the ride..




Dropped the gear back down and since the plumber only pulled in a doggy in the first round he's up next....




Gotta love it when they jump into the net

A quick plug for MM(unfortunately Not him) as this guy hit two right when we dropped the Salmon gear........

We pulled the gear right by these guys...... Not sure who was luckier on such a beautiful day...... guess it depends on your game....




Back to the harbour...




It was quite a bit busier than when we left in the morning....



And there were now Pirates everywhere... we had to be careful...



Good thing they only had water cannons........ but very few messed with this guy...




It was a wicked day.... great guys.. and props to the guide that worked it for us
