Does anyone know if coho have started showing up in the bay at renfrew yet?

I've heard its starting to pick up but not gang busters by any means.

I think with all this rain and low numbers of coho this year its going to be a small window to catch them, many will probably just boogy right up the river, IMO.

Did a full day in Renfrew on Sunday. One coho. 4 hali. Salmon fishing was sparse. Went out to the bank. Back into the beach, 500 deep contour feet in front of the bay. One. Nothing else. Most guides are shutting down which might be a telling sign.

If the weather isn't to bad tomorrow thinking of going over, my question is, has anyone ever surf cast off the beach? I have seen people on the bridge and all around the river but never anyone casting from the shore, also what casting spoons would you use?

Thank-you

I know guys cast for them in the bay with spoons like gibbs ironhead or Koho and of course I know guys snag off the bridge.

Now I've never done it but I've heard they don't bite very well in the estuary but like I've said i've never tried it.

I may head up there next weekend to try the river though, they do bite there ;)
