I'm picking up a 12 foot aluminum in Victoria Sat. Just wondering if somebody could tell me where to launch it on Elk Lake.

There's a boat launch on the north side of the lake, west of the beach by the hwy.

you can also use the rower's club public launch, I have been catching nice trout near there.

went for an hour yesterday and caught two really nice rainbows, both over 18" and they fought like hell. released them both. Both caught on a rainbow pattern rapala. I thought it might be too late in the season but was I ever wrong.

I got me another little lake boat and this will be the first time towing/launching one (friend always did it before)

The rowers launch is 10hp or less right?

Which boat launch at elk is the easiest to do and what day / time is good to launch so I don't hold people up?

I don't think either of the launches will be busy any day at this time of year. People are usually understanding anyways. If the boat is small and doesn't draft too much I would suggest the rower's club launch. If it is big then use the main boat launch. I have been doing very well during the last hour before dark trolling between the rower's club and beaver lake. You can usually see fish surfacing to take insects and just swimming around near the surface. Good luck and if you see a yellow kayak with a trolling motor hanging off the side say Hi!

well I went to the lake the day before yesterday and had no joy. It looks like the water has cooled enough to shut them down for the winter. oh well, good year I went over 20 times in my little kayak and had good luck even up to dec 5th. I guess we will have to wait til spring. now....about those steelhead.....still havent caught one of those yet....

You can still go, just bottom fish.
