The river really does not need the added pressure from guys talking about it on the internet. It was rated BCs most endangered river not long ago for a reason. The hatchery does not produce many fish at all and the river cannot support a fishery. There is not retention whether a fish is clipped or now. If you wish careful catch and release is ok but its in the best interest not to advertise the flow.

I was fly fishing the river last Thurs. and Fri. Thursday I landed a very nice Coho doe, hatchery. Hooked into another that gave me sport for about 4-5 mins. and then did the big jump and shake and did the long line release, so not sure whether it was a wild or hatchery fish. Of course as usual a fair number of Chums as well but nothing that I would consider silver bright by any means. It's a great river and my hat goes off to all those that have worked to try and bring this gem back to where it once was. P.s. if you want Chums for the smoker, go to the Puntledge (Courtney) and try for some fresher fish and the possibility of a Coho.
