Hey guys...we need your surplus fishing and boating stuff. We are going to have a fishing / boating garage sale on Sat Sept. -25 in the parking lot at Harbour Chandler. 100% of the money taken in will go to the Nanaimo River hatchery who are desperate for funds in order to keep some of the programs going. Your junk is a treasure to someone else. We'll take everything from a hoochie to a boat or motor. As long as it is related to fishing or boating. Items not sold will go down to the hatchery and go on sale again during the hatchery open house. Flashers, rods, reels, lures, boat bumpers, fish finders, crab traps, etc. etc. etc. Time to clean out that fishing tackle room and help us raise money for a cause dear to our hearts.

The response has been great so far. We've had some pretty good equipment donated and this is just the first day.

First pass through my no longer used gear produced the pile of stuff shown in the pic below. Everything from fish finders and a black box to downriggers, 11 fishing rods, 6 reels and parts for a Honda 8hp. Jigs, lures, hoochies, flashers, dodgers...etc. etc. Geez, I did not realize I had become such a hoarder. Next pass will produce the harder to give up stuff but it's all for a good cause. I've banged on these local fish for over 30 years. Now it's time to pay it forward. Can you beat this pile???

Thanks for the great donations Mi Chica. Someone is going to get a great deal on those fly rods and custom salmon and steelhead flys. Bob Adshead also stopped in tonight with a fantastic assortment of jigs, custom made rods, custom made rod carrying cases and other stuff. We will be able to make a substantial donation to the Nanaimo Fish Hatchery if the gear keeps coming in like this.

Thanks to Timberwolf for the donation of two Merc outboard motors and to whoever left the fishing tackle boxes at my front door yesterday.
