If you can find a place where squid hang out and the water is 90 to 120ft deep....you should do o.k..
I heard Snake Island was a good spot......and several places in and around Thrasher.
I don't Ling jig Nanaimo much...I have other places.
All the big ones I got this year, when I cut them open they had a large white squid in their stomachs.
The only jig I used was a real big pearl white Spinnow with the black border edge down the back of it.
This particular jig in the BIG size seems to turn them on.
I just look on charts for where there is a shelf in a rocky tidal area down about 90ft or so which falls away to deep water.
The Lings will sit on the shelf waiting for something to be pushed up and over by the current.

around entrane is good. find places that drop off quickly, i usually start in about 40ft than drift off the drop off staying just off bottom. If you want to catch big ones use greenlings as bait. Usually catch the greenlings in shallower water around kelp. Kelp Greenlings are not the blueish color lings u see. Good Luck
