I would use a casting spoon in Silver/Red, Gold/Red, or Blue/Silver, up to 3" long. Or maybe weighted flies in same color. Many guys use flies.
12lb test. or less for casting metal.
I don't like the heavy casting spoons because they sink too fast and splash too much on impact.
Subtlety is the key IMO.
High tide is best.
Try orange with black dots if they have lockjaw.
