The Queen and I are going to be spending a few days in Silva Bay over the holidays. I have only fished there once and never prawned or crabbed in the immediate area so am looking for some tips. The one trip down that way, I saw a lot of prawn trap buoys just to the north of the flat top islands, so I would probably try there. Any other suggestions?

Prawning this time of year is usually solid all around the flattops, deeper you fish the larger the prawns generally. Also you can set your gear out and troll the grande for winters and keep an eye on your markers.

Prawning and Spring fishing are both also good off thrasher rock but alltogether much harder on gear depending on your equipment and how experienced you are in the area. For the springs go anything small and green glow scrapping the bottom. Best of luck.
