Fantastic...that's all I can say about the support we received today at the garage sale. Total revenue was $5,540.00 and total expenses were $17.00. You helped raise $5,523.00 for the Nanaimo River Fish Hatchery.

Some of you, like RVP, went above and beyond in your donations. The expenses were so low because of the generosity of the gang at Harbour Chandler who supplied everything we needed. They even put on a free lunch of hot dogs, burgers, pop and BBQ'd salmon for everyone.

Bruce Cummings won the generator that was donated by PNT. The blind auction items went to Mike Jensen, Paul Richard and Sal Dominelli.

The effort the group put into this was a small price to pay for all the Nanaimo River fish we have caught over the years.

What a terrific day! As has already been reported we raised over $5500.00 for the Hatchery! I am astounded at the generosity shown by the donors. Folks like RVP, Copper Moon, Hot Rods, Sculpin, A-1, Henry Bob, Stones Marina, Pacific Net and Twine, etc. provided so much good stuff that we stuffed four and a half pick-ups to get it to the Chandler. It was neat to see line ups waiting for the gates to open. It was fun to work(?) helping out and the generosity and spirit of the purchasers was terrific. Harbour Chandler provided a great venue and Midland Tools promoted the event on their big sign.
I am sure that this will be a regular event so start going through your gear and setting aside surplus stuff for the next one.
I personally hope that in the future the idea can be expanded to help other worthwhile Island projects as it is sadly obvious that fish and their habitat are not a priority of our governments. So when stuck with lemons, we are now making lemonade and it feels good to join with others to make a difference, and having fun in the process. :)

good job guys and way to go for those guys that stepped up to the plate with big donations of gear. If only every hatchery had a group like that behind them to help.

Great job to all involved.
It was a great sale with some awesome deals. I picked up a few US made Coyote's for a buck each and a couple new packs of hootchies for 2 bucks each. Wow.
