Did the trip last year-took us 7 hours from Cowichan Lake. Add to that the f'in morons doing 60+km/h and kicking up the rocks and gravel beside your boat. I wouldn't do it unless you are prepared for the worst;ie spare bearings ,trailer tires etc,etc- I think you get the point

In the field across the road from the boat ramp.Don't ever hear about many problems leaving your truck and trailer there.

The "field" or also know as the athletic hall parking lot is very safe. I personally would leave my vehicle there then at clutesi for the reasons: A) it will save you the money of leaving it at clutesi, I don't know what it is now, but when you have to pay $13.50 just to launch, I'm going to assume it's ridiculous. B) the athletic hall parking is only a quick walk across the road and it is free and I have never heard of anybody having a saftey issue there.

$6.00 a night to park at the ramp.I agree with you that it's probably safer to leave your unit at the field and at no cost as well.

The Bamfield road is horrible. Last year I had a bearing go on the trailer, then the side window of the boat broke, I will never trailer a boat down that road again.
