Hi there, new to fishing in the mid Island area. Can anyone suggest good holes to fish in right now?

what do you want to catch? Do you have a boat? Where abouts on the island are you located?

Lots of variables, just give us some more info and we can point you in the right direction.

Have a good boat, looking for salmon - anywhere Nanaimo, Ladysmith, Cow Bay area.

Fishing has been very good in the south end of town in Campbell River. About 5 min boat ride from the new boat launch..........BB

Wishbone, it's hard to have better fishing than Port Alberni for sockeye right now. I would get up before Monday when the nets fly again.

You need to be on the water with rods trolling by 0500. The bite is full on for a couple of hours, then slows down.
