I thought I would throw up a report just for you

If any of yous know where I was... plz keep it to yourself :ugeek:

Salt chuck fishing in the neighborhood has been spectacular if you like reeling in fish........... It has been kinda lame if you look at that humpy or wild coho and think "That was $1 worth of bait you just mangled" :x

Time for a change up............

Grabbed Mrs Fishaholic and headed this way.....

Image

It was wet...... but it was mild

Image

It wasn't a vegetation pounding rain, more of a heavy fog/drizzle. It really made the forest happy and brought out the true colours.....

Not done......

There were so many of these through the clear cut we were trekking that I think we left a trail of jam...... Suprised that there wasn't more blackies around

Image

First run we hopped into.......There is a cheater circle

Image

They were ghostly but I managed to pick out at least a half dozen fish in that group

I ran some flies past them but to no avail.... Time to let the Mrs have a go.
Sometimes even in the low water big chrome metrics will get them going...... And she did a perfect cast.... Size #4 right on top of them.....DOH!
Time to move as we had used up our welcome

We fished for a few more hours....

This guy WOULD NOT leave me alone...

Image

After that we were getting hungry...... Decided to try and find the Blue Tarp Riverside grill that we had heard so much about.....

Image

Image

Even got to lube the front diff

Image

Finally found the place... picked up a hitch hiker on the way though

Image

The view was nice...

Image

I had my saw and some paper......... Every thing was so soaked that fire wasn't easy.... Thank god for bar oil...
It stayed at idle for a good long while.....

Image

Finally..... heated up the joint

Image

The food was good....

Image

A good way to work off the stuffed....

Image

Yup..... I knew my battery was getting a little long in the tooth..... but still forgot the extra battery and cables...

Climbed into the back of the D-range-o and shortly after heard some ATV's from the campers a couple miles down river.... Got their attention and they said they would be back (in the AM)

To sleep...

Woke up early to a nice

Image

Couldn't really go anywhere (like to the steel I found yesterday ) so started working the nearby root balls.... no pics and nothing spectacular but did manage a few smaller cutties.....

Heard the whine of a bashing 4 cyl at around 11 and there they were..... gave the freaking Dodge a jump and away we go...

Good karma to them.

No steel or fish of substance but, hey......That didn't suck.. Good time

Next purchase after a battery.......

lucky you got that jump! Reminds me I need to get off the ocean and out in the bush soon. Also nice to know there's a few fish waiting for me as well ;)

Wheeew talk about lucky! good thing for helping hands could have been a sour situation if no one was around. Very nice report! Some nice pics aswell!
I had a friend of mine tell me about his trip to a remote lake up north. Brought his wife along for a camping trip, 2 hour drive from the nearest town. Same thing wanted tunes and killed his battery. Unfortunatly for them they had to walk to find help :o

Thanks
Splitty :D

you may have tried this but, i've found that a stonefly nymph size 8-10 olive or black with some crazy legs really work well for summer run steel in low water

They like their crazy legs
