Nope. None of those were tyees. I posted them as the submission was for pictures to a local magazine and I thought they had a certain appeal to them.
I know I enjoy all three immensely!
Sorry you got your information incorrect. I did not claim to have caught 12 tyees out of Nanaimo this season. I did catch many more than I have ever caught before but the numbers tend to get distorted online. I was fortunate to have a local member from DFO on the boat for 2 of the tyees. However it was an outstanding year and I am hoping next year surpasses this. Last May/early June was spectacular and, if it were to never occur again (hope not) I would die a happy man as there were some days this summer that I had to pinch myself for the action that was occuring!
As for the West Coast we caught a good amount of tyees. Not my thing to worry about how big they were but that my guests had a great time and wish to rebook! I accomplished that in spades and a couple of stores in Ucluelet sold a few coolers to my guests who, despite friendly warnings, did not have the cooler space to take home all their fish. What I would call a slay fest!
