I love June for fishing at Langford lake. It's nice to catch a fish that doesn't fit in my big frying pan. Since the spring has been colder than I remember, the fishing has lasted longer. Go out at first light, 1pm and after 7pm and you have a good chance at the trout.

Trolling on Cloudy days, darker spoon with bright spots and sunny days the old red and white seem to work well. Panther martin silver with red skirt has been working for me as well.

From shore, sunrise and orange powerbait off the bottom have been hot for me with a longer leader.

Fish that got away story: I had a bite on orange power bait and it bent my rod over so far it fell in the water. I got the fish in about 3 feet from shore and barly got a look at it when it shook it's head and got away leaving me standing there with wet feet and a smile.

I plan to fish Langford lake, shore and from a boat this summer. but so far I only get bites after my first cast and near dusk. I can show up at 4pm or 7pm and seem to get a bite shortly after my first cast and then nothing until it's almost too dark to walk out.

Lookout lake is still a lot of fun. I switched up to these long shank small hook to make it a bit more difficult to get the hookset, but so far I haven't had a gut hook yet. The fishing store in langford by boston pizza has these powerbait mini crayfish and are on fire in both langford lake and lookout lake. I've only used them on a bobber, but I think a carolina or drop shot rig might work really well too.

I caught another 3lb catfish from look out. Ugly creatures but easy to release. I don't think I'm ready to cook one of them yet.

Question: Is anyone catching sunfish from lookout yet? Do you think they are still asleep or have they all died off through winter?

What's the perch situation like at langford? I haven't seen a one yet but I haven't been out in a boat since May I think.

Lookout lake has slowed right down.... wait let me reword that. The Fish have gone deeper and are biting less. The Sunfish are out and started to get caught more. The lake itself is picking up with human activity. The beach has the odd swimmer or dog most nights and the rock on the beach usually has someone on it. The Middle rock almost always has a group on it now and the far side of the lake is taken by late comers in the evenings.

Trash is getting left behind more and more these days, if you visit the lake and are fishing, throw some trash in a bag and/or walk it down to the trash cans. Beer cans and chairs floating in the water isn't acceptable.

First time posting but couldn't resist.

Great afternoon on the water ending with a 22.5" 4.8lb rainbow. :D

10 year old is a very lucky fisherman! I'm there to paddle the canoe

Willowleaf and wedding band with a black leech chaser.

His first over 20" and it took a while on his ultra light rod.

Thought I might add a Picture

I think he is as proud of himself as I am.

Took us a while to bring in with just 4lb leader. Once we got it near the canoe I realized the net was too small :o

2 more tries and I got the head in the net. Buying a bigger net this week!

I love langford lake. Even if you don't catch anything it's a great day on shore or on the water. I caught my first fish there 2010 and my first 20+ inch shortly after.

Nice job catching a biggy in the winter, it's usually dead for me until april/may.

Since my car accident back in July I've only been back to langford lake two or three times. Maybe it's time to try again. ;)
