Whats the word on the derby, reports?

Rumor has it a 29 Pounder is the Leader, with a 27 just behind. Large fish for this time of year! Also heard there are quite a few fish around, and most are finding them.

Ain't there due to my Partner bailing 15 minutes before we were supposed to go And of course the rest of The Ladz were long gone by then. Dammit! Had a few choice words for this fellow at the time, and won't be making any "Plans" with him for a considerable time. Certainly wish I was there...

Just got back, the derby was won by a 29lbr! Lots of people at the prize tables on Sunday despite the rain. The fishing was excellent, we got 6 springs on board. average weight probably 8-10lbs. Pretty happy with that!

Wont forget this one for a while, and there are parts I might not ever remember. Jeff, Jody, Sheldon, Wendy, thanks again!

This weekend was full of action:

Friends boat almost sinks friday afternoon - good on the guys who towed him to the nook.

Friday nights good times.

Saturdays 30 lb Hali and dudes puking their guts out for 3 hours in the rollers.

Sunday having a bald eagle dive bomb the boat and grab a rock fish 10 feet off the back and take off screaming line out. Wildest thing ever.

Other than the Hali got 1 spring and lots of prawns.

Can't wait for next year.

Yes, it was a great time. Has to be the best turnout I have seen since I started going 7 yrs ago. They ran out of tickets, there were more fish weighed in than other derbies and the winning fish at 29+ was the biggest ever. Weather was fabulous, wind stayed away, even got the traditional rain for the award ceremonies.

Personally we got a couple springs, biggest 9 lbs, 4 rock fish, limit of crab and prawns. Not a bad weekend by any count.

Unfortunately there were a couple of boat problems, but no one was hurt and everyone got home safe. That isn't always the case.

There should be some pictures or videos posted on the Nook Web Site and if I can figure out how to get my pictures on here, I can add a few.

Was also great to meet people we have met at past derbies and a couple folks from this community as well. Hopefully we'll see you at the derby next year if not before.
