Hi,
Is there any point to using live bait in fresh water? i.e., if I were to catch minnows and put them on a hook, would I catch bass, trout or perch from a lake?
Are you allowed to use a net or small trap to catch minnows from a lake to use as bait?
Thanks

Check the regs, no fin fish or parts of except roe can be used. Go to gofishbc.com, you can link to a copy of the regs.

Fin fish: The use of fin fish (dead or alive) or parts of fin fish other than roe is prohibited throughout the province, with the following exception: You may use the head of fin fish or the headless body of fin fish as bait, only: (a) when sport fishing for sturgeon in Fraser River (Region 2 only), or (b) when set lining in lakes of Region 6 or in lakes of Zone A of Region 7.
