A bit slow in thanking Kevin (MM) and Harbour Chandlers for the awesome prize.
My apologies.
From the little time I've had to read the instruction book (yeah, I know, who reads that shit) it looks like a very good unit.

The theme of the contest was tips, donations, or pictures to enter. I used the picture route, but will also honour the other two avenues.

The tip - don't forget the basics - thousands of spoons, hoochies, plugs, etc. out there, but herring/anchovy, either whole or strip, should be the first choice unless the dogfish are eating everything in sight. I don't think I've ever gone out without real bait aboard.

A donation (50.00) is being sent to the Cowichan Valley Naturalists who are doing some good things that benefit the local streams and fish. One of their activities this year was monitoring and counting the fry survival from the enhanced spawning beds that were created in the Cowichan River two years ago.

Should they not be interested, or in need of funds, then I'll try and track down the group that has been ferrying the coho over the falls at Mill Bay. Only heard about that project, so if anybody has a contact name or phone, I'd appreciate hearing from you.

Doug
