great day today! decent take of prawns, we grabbed a 20# spring in the afternoon that fought for 20+ minutes, no net on board for whatever reason so it got a little tap on the head with the gaff. All that and got to see a sweet orca show , 6 or 7 of them in dodds for a while and after they took off they headed towards harmac and made what we think was a failed attempt at knocking a sea lion off the log booms. We were a few hundred yards away but could see huge splashes, tail slapping and orca fins cruising right in the middle of the area with the sea lions. They then cruised up and down the sea lion herd for a couple minutes before heading north. Would have been somethin to see if they actually got one, had the camera ready to go after all the commotion but just got video of the whales as they left.

Nice work on the 20# Chevy, sounds like you got a good show. Fished for 3-4 hours this morning, saw tons of bait but didnt get any keepers. Hit a bunch of pacific cod and got 4 or 5 springs in the 2-3lb range. Crabbing was good, thanks BC .

Fished thrasher from 11:30 till 3 not a sniff of anything, orcas passed by thrasher at around 1 didn't look like they where feeding just passing through, 3 hour soak on the prawn traps and only 14 prawns, nice day on the water, thought that there would of been more boats out fishing with the news of some big fish being caught, saw 2 other boats but of the 2 one had scuba divers.
Cheers Tony

Fished way out off the Fingers for a few hours this afternoon. No chinook but the bluebacks were a pleasant surprize. Caught them on the way up when we popped the lines so there must be a reasonable number around.
