Great pic's FG. Nice to see some halibut being caught on the inside for sure. That spring is a hog. Beauty fish. Thanks for posting the pic's.

Cheers All,
Just back from a charter...3 strikes and 3 teens in the boat. The Watefall and down 195' on a Zuro.
Back out tomorrow and then a rest as I have a charter for a wedding on Saturday.

Fished the Fingers last night. Boated one undersize and lost 2 others. 80 - 120 feet down on spoons. Wave Baby, fishing in the same area, had a 15 pound chinook and boated a sockeye. Hopefully, that's a sign the big run will materalize. Hot Rods

Cheers Hot Rods,
Do you happen to know what the sockeye was caught on? And the specifics of the approach (depth, speed etc...).
Thanks in advance....

I assume the sockeye was caught on the usual chinook gear (either spoon or hoochie) at 104 feet. Speed was around 2 mph. Remember, sockeye are still closed in area 17.

Fished Whalebone to Silva Bay this morning. Yes, it was rough but fishable. Lost more fish than I care to mention. Guys fishing around the Grande did well 200' down. Took a break at lunch and came back out around 3 and quickly boated the two fish we were looking for. Spackleback hoochies were hot for us and several other boats.

Got out about 7:00 this evening, I had to pick up my son at Drumbeg so I started at the south end of Gabriola reef on the Breakwater side, quickly picked up a 7lb ling then near the end of the rockpiles a salmon hit at 115' of cable in 105' of water, so very near the bottom on a green and white spoon, 17lbs plus 1/2 lb of 2" herring.Short trip, no other takers.
