I think this question has been posted before but where exactly is grande? Thanks in advance. BTW is there a map somewhere that lists out the various spots in Nanaimo?

Cheers All,

Three fish this afternoon with the largest 16 lbs and full limits of crabs. Was a ton of PWS Dolphins off Entrance on way home.

Got news that the digital camera guests dropped cannot be fixed so I headed to buy a new one on way home tonight. Got to store and found I had a flat tire on boat trailer. Had to race to pumps and fill so I could get home. When did they start charging $1.00 for air? :(

Hopefully can get tire fixed quickly and still have time to stop for camera.

Back on water tomorrow.

well- fishing report from a poor novice--went fishing in Porlier Pass (is that close enuff to nanaimo to be in this thread?) last 2 days--not much showing on the finder- fished 150 to 40' low high tide today and high high tide yesterday--fished spoons (glow) from HC. one ling cod in the boat- no salmon or strikes--was trying one rigger with braid and one with stainless--both as bad as the other LOL!
3 other boats out also no luck this AM. water was smooth and was cold and overcast untill 0930 hrs when sun broke through---gonna keep trying to learn--mracer

Thursday noon to 5 Thrasher for a couple of hours nothing in the usual spots but saw some bait balls. Trolled over the reef north of thrasher light, 60' of water 45' down had a strike that looked like a ling as I was expecting, dragged like a Ling then I handed it off to my guest and it turned into a 12lb spring. Over to the Grande nothing at the waterfall, back to the Grande and 140' in about 180' we had a popoff that I grabbed on the end was a 9lb spring that acted like a coho with some nice aerials for the guests and neighbouring boats.

fished Grande to waterfall tonight caught a 14# on a black/glow at 125. We get back to the dock clean our fish and proceed to wash the fish off in the water when a seal grabs it out the old mans hands!  needless to say we had a good laugh and a little pissed off at the same time.

It really is time for a cull. When they start to attack people at the docks, they have now become a dangerous animal and not just a nuisance. Remember the little girl that was pulled in by a seal at Mosquito creek in NVan last year. She is lucky to be alive.
