I was surprised to see the port side downrigger being lowered while playing the fish. I myself try to get the gear out of the water, leaving less chance for the fish to get caught up in or have the line touch the downrigger wire, we all know what happens then. It does become busy when by yourself, so congrats on landing both chinooks.

When fishing by "yourself", it is better to leave the gear down! :D

well that can be debated but if the bite is on you can't get a double header if your bring other rod up. Now what to with a double header while solo is whole 'nother story. :mrgreen:

Always BARBLESS..very bad KARMA if you don't :!: Anyhow the 2 Norwegians [Kjell and MYSELF]plan to pillage the salmon stocks in Bamfield and the BAR the 6,7,8th of August :mrgreen: Nice brite sunny days are needed to produce a quality video[ so I've learned]Plan to get out on the local waters soon to connect with that late JULY_AUGUST Cowichan run that moves in to our local waters.Back out to Bamfield again later in august with 2 other boats..Will BE Lots Of FUN!!

Excellent deck management there. And not to sound like a weinie but it's nice to see the Floater coat too (I'm sure that wasn't just for the weather). Always a good idea when you're by yourself.

I just feel safer with it on,keeps me warm when the wind picks-up..besides I'M NOT A GOOD SWIMMER..lots of fisherman aren't. :mrgreen:

Was planning to launch the boat tomorrow morning BUT the wind forecast is calling for up to 20 ......will check early AM...nice tide at 9am....chovies are in the brine :roll:
