Fished north of Neck Point from 9 till noon this morning. One 12" coho and one solid hit at 80' that may have been a keeper. At least the shakers are gone. Dropped two prawn traps in 350' of water and loaded up with medium size critters. At least I went home with something to eat.

Cheers All, Out to Thrasher Rock tonight for a quick trip. Only hit and kept one fish....37 lbs spring 50' down in 90' of water. Tried for ling but only ones we hooked were undersized. Off to Ucluelet for last trip of season this weekend. Attachment:

Business Time.
I've set up an account here, I like the look of this site. Much more specific.
4 hours trolling tonight. 1 shaker spring, 1 pink that actually pulled the clip out so hard that I thought the DR was bouncing bottom. The kid gets another chance at filleting tomorrow.
Didn't drop crab traps but did prawn north side of Snake, great night for that.
Smiley.
p.s. still thinking about how to run 6 rods, 4 is easy but add 1 to each side and it gets ugly. Thinking that the gear above gets tangled in the loop of the one below?

Smiley, Good to see you sign up, I think you will find it a lot more "user" friendly.
You could run a surface rod on either side to make 6.

Out yesterday evening. Circled Pipers for shakers. The bait was really thick in shallow water, in the 50-60 depth range, but no good action.

ya welcome smiley, glad to have you here too. What about planers for the 5th and 6th rod? You can get planers that send the gear out sideways away from the other stuff, you just gotta bring them in before stopping the boat or you're hooped.
Those walleye guys and great lakes salmon guys look like porcupines they use so many rods trolling.

What do you do when you get a good fish on with all those rods and some downriggers. I have been fishing ( I fish alone a lot) in a fleet that gets a good bite and seem to do as well as most with one line. This is in places where findinf ht eright depth is not an issue.

Smiley - Let us know how six rods work out. I fish 4 all summer long and would love to fish 6. However, I do find that I already have some problems fishing 4 in deeper waters for the exact reason you mentioned. The loop formed in the line from the bottom rod catches the flasher of the line above. I currently us 12 foot spacings.
