I believe seven easily considering the skill/time/effort FG puts in.Baddog hit two well over 30 in a day and a guy at our marina hit 4 or 5 including a 42 lber in june. Good number of large fish compared to years past! Last year our average was in the low teens but this year in august our average was about 22lbs+. Wish i got to try in may when you guys were smoking them!

Cheers All,
Anybody getting any decent coho? Very strange that they are not showing strong considering the numbers off the West Coast! One guy had a chum at the cleaning dock earlier this week.

We figger the Coho are not around because of the weather. Gotta get some rain. We were marking lots of fish near Carlos last week but could not hook up anything decent and RVP missed a vicious hit. Prob'ly the only big fish in the 'hood. Hope that wind dies down too!

Coho came in very late last year (still entering the river in December), so probably will do the same again this year with the lack of rain and high temps.

There are VERY few clipped coho around Nanaimo. The only ones you might find are Vedder river fish passing by, but most of them go by close to the Vancouver side. The Big & Little Qualicum rivers have some clipped coho, but most of them don't stray too much past French Creek. If you want to target ECVI coho, the best thing to do is hit the beaches around Frenck Creek to Deep Bay. Seen a few fish jumping around Nile Creek the other day, so it is probably starting now.
