Fished this morning from 0700 to 1100. Lost one good fish and had a few other hits and misses. Caught a few doggies, and WAY WAY too many shakers. I ended up pulling the pin as I couldn't bear to catch another little guy. Sounded like the bite was coming on as I was pulling up to Brechin. LOTS of bait between the green can and Pipers and then spotty bit solid balls down towards Neck. Seemed to be more shakers dwon towards Neck. Green splatter was all that worked for me today.

We must have passed in the two inch swells out there this morning Ratherbefishing. I trolled from the Green Can to Brickyard starting at 8 am. Lots of bait and fish showing. Managed to boat a few 'just legals' as well as a pile of shakers. Did get into one nice fish but the leader broke. Did get into a nice bite on the north side of Neck Point around 11 am. Found a nice bait ball and hit a fish everytime I managed to troll through it. 150' down in 165' of water. All action was on the spackleback hoochie for me as well.

Morning trip to French creek- no springs, took a couple pinks back. Launched again in Nanaimo at 5pm, fished neck point and got into all the shakers as well. Last year I remember it being pretty hot by now untill mid sept, not much happening now.
Maybe get a few people from this forum out on sunday and head all over and try and locate a school.

Cheers All,
I had a charter this afternoon (first since back from a week in Ucluelet) and the reports did not provide any assurance of a great trip. The weather was great and we headed out to the Green Can. We hit several small fish (shakers) before we hit a decent fish which a guest lost long distance. A few minutes later another decent fish and another guest lost this one. We then had a run of shakers before the bite came on. We landed three good fish in short order and then called it a day. Not a stellar day but the guests were thrilled as all they really wanted was one for the bbq.
Fish were caught on Coyote Wonderbread and 50/50 Glow Green down 90' off Neck Point.

Fishing Guide, I'm dying to see a pic or two of your Silverstreak. Sounds pretty nice on your website. Help a brother out on a lonely Saturday spent off the water .

I'd rather see pics of the 3 fish he landed . 5 fish in one night around here is considered a stellar day by Nanaimo standards.

Cheers All,
It was a surprise that we did as well as we did. We had 4 other boats in the area and, after the first fish, one was right beside us. When we landed the next 2, we had 3 boats around us.
On a different note...both fish were definately dark and looked like they were river ready.
As for pictures...guests took the pictures and I will contact them to ask for copies.

Fished Clarke Rock to Neck Point from 5:30 till 7:30 tonight. Not a touch. Not a lot of bait showing in the area we covered. Could not get into the water north of Neck that we really wanted to fish. Weeds just too thick.

Hey HR, Yes we passed between Clarke and the Green Can. Think both of us were into a bunch of shakers at the time. I was in the Malibu with Honda's on the back. I found the same salad past Neck yesterday, sorry should have posted that.

Fished for around 2 hours tonight from neck to icarus. Boated one fish 10lbs and couldnt keep the shakers off so I decided to call it quits. Cant stand seeing small fish gaff themselves on hooks half their size... 5" fish shouldnt hit 5" spoons!
