I just downloaded navionics for my iPhone. Wow! Is it ever accurate and full of features, like tide info anywhere with a cool graphic interface, as well distance measuring, waypoints, tracking, markers, detailed contours, google map overlays, etc... I paid $20 at the app store. This is app is easily better than most gps out there.

Anyone, else use this app?

One feature I like is if you take a photo with your iPhone while the program is running, it records the location and posts a link to the photo on your maps. :geek:

Used it last year and I works great. Wonder if the iPad will have that app when they come with the gps.

There was an American last year at Ukee, and we got to talking about where some spots are out on the banks. I say I can show you on your GPS he says show me here. Pulls out his i-phone and scrolls out to the SW corner. Contour lines and all! $20 Navionics app! WTF!

I have been using it for nearly a year and paid $10. Covers the whole coast and makes my Garmin 60cx look very dim and hard to see. I still like the Garmin for accuracy in tight situations but the iphone is way easier to see. Sucks the batteries down so you need a charger with you. Best ten bucks I ever spent considering to buy the same charts for the Garmin would cost you around $1200.

I have both the iPhone 3GS and iPad 3GS and both are running the iPhone version. The iPad just doubles the screen size or exact same size screen as iPhone size and not really clear on iPad but fine on iPhone). $25 for iPad version and now have both versions on the iPad.Also has Google or Bing sat overlay mapsl. Tides and currents feature rocks. I have my iPhone connected to USB on my Clarion so it stays charged and plays my iTunes.

I don't fish anymore without the iPhone. Getting the latest news/weather forecasts(including Bigwavedave reports), backup GPS, tides/currents etc makes me feel a lot safer/informed on the water.

iPad version really shines in resolution compared to iPhone and the size is amazing, bigger/better than my 8.5" Lowrance. Moisture will kill the iPad so it will never replace my GPS/Plotter.
