Right now all I am making is the 24”X24” Traps, I can make some with the 1” on top and 2 sides if you like. The 18”X18” traps I could make, but they require a very steep entrance to accommodate the bait cage. I personally do not, through my experience, feel they fish as well as the entrance that I make. I will be experimenting with a 18”X18” trap this winter, as I do not want to bring something to the market that will not be the best that one can make.
I have looked at using plastic woven mesh for the entrances, but a buddy of mine had some traps with those, and they broke apart after only a few years, so I replaced them with all wire entrances. You pay enough for a trap as it is, I don’t think that you should have to replace it every few years.
I will be coming up with a smaller version a 12”X 12” X24” long trap, with an entrance at each end. So there will be no top or bottom to the trap, that way if they land upside down, they will still be right side up.
I really appreciate all the advice and comments, keep them coming. I only want to make the best prawn trap that you will be happy with.
Thanks, Nahmint1
