If Harper puts this clown in then we need to get the bucks together and proceed directly to the Supreme Court. The law is on our side as previous decisions ranging from our top court all the way back to the Magna Carta have consitently found in favour of right to fish and common property resource. Their introduction of ITQ's was and is a defacto violation of the above. If they want to deal with the black eye they will get in the world press we will provide the opportunity. In the meantime, if we lobby the MP's in the ridings we live in (especially NDP, perhaps) to table a Private Members Bill, this will help keep this issue in the forefront. It would be wise to ensure the media is aware of these efforts and of the reponses from each individual MP. The battle has just begun! :x

Its all moot at this point. I just read an article that reports there are over $1million in fines un-paid. Better yet there is no mechanism in place to do ANYTHING about the collection of the over due penalties. FISH ON with no repercussions!
