Going to UCLUELET Aug 1- Aug. 8. Appreciate you pro's that fish Ucluelet area to give your opinion on the fishing season so far and what may i expect when i come up there. I also have a second trip for Aug.30 - Sept 2 for BAMFIELD. I have lite gear for coho, medium for Tyee, and 6 1/2 ' poles with Penns for the hali's, all spun up with Braid 50 and 80 lb. Coho gear 17 lb mono. I have Tomics,Rotating bait holders, hootchies, and many spoons all imitating Pilchards, anchovies and needle fish. 25 FT. Custom Weld fully geared.
Would like to do some mooching , is this possible or will i be on the downriggers all the time? Have read some articles about fishing around rocks and beach areas with lighter gear catching large Tyee, sounds fun. Any help in this area would be appreciated.
Do you have plenty of bait available to buy up there this year or shuold i bring my own? What about Baitrix Artificial baits, any opinions?
