Hi, We just tried fishing quenell lake for the first time. Had some luck fishing with a egg sucking leech fly and a split shot cast toward the lilypads and slowly retrieved. The kids caught a few bass in between the sunfish on bobbers and worms. Seems to be lots of fish in the lake, we didn't land any over 12 inches though. Good luck.

Fishing tends to be best early in the morning - before it heats up... and then later in the evening. I have caught bass on a multitude of lures. The most fun is getting one on a popper lure. Nothing more exciting than seeing a big lunker come to the surface to nail its prey!

We typically use live bait - worms... though at this time of the year it becomes difficult to find them. The store worms work well too but they are expensive!
The sunfish typically get a lot of your bait when using live stuff so this is the time for plastics.
We use anything from grubs set up texas rig style to poppers, diving minnows, etc.
As previously mentioned... fishing in the cooler hours is better.
Hope you catch lots. I have landed bass in Quennell that mark over 5lbs on a number of occasions.
