How does one go about doing this just show up and ask for a manager and introduce yourself and offer your services and exchange contact information?

Or should I show up with a resume or something? I am interested in helping out the local hatchery here whether it's cleaning up the place or picking up garbage, painting, helping out with maintence or anything that they might need a helping hand with.

I have some down time at the moment and looking to help out a good cause that I enjoy so much (that being salmon in general) and what better way than the hatchery on the stamp/somass.

Good on you for helping out. I think it depends on the hatchery and what they need done. I would just look for their info online and send them an email. I worked at a few and spent a couple nights at the hatch when there was alot of work. A few other volunteers did aswell.

Good for you for offering to volunteer. I would think most hatcheries would love to hear from you as alot of them are operating because of volunteers. Are you talking about the Robertson Creek Hatchery?

Yes sir.

Their email doesn't seems to be up to date so i'll either pop in there tomorrow or fax a letter offering my services and time.

Pop in there. I'm sure they will welcome you with open arms :) .

I would love to volunteer more but I own a business and I don't even have time to pay attention :( . I donate alot of stuff once or twice a year to fish and game organizations and I am a double member of the BCWF (one through the local gun club and one through myself). Looking to find ways to do more like yourself. Keep up the good work. I applaud your effort for sure.

Well I would rather trade places with you and actually be working right now haha.

But yeah with this downtime and not looking so good for employment opportunities in port for my trade mise well give alittle back for something that I take from.

Donation's no matter the size big or small are always a good thing aswell.
