Not sure where to post this but two new top of the line electric
Scotty downriggers with Striker Holders and locks were drilled out and
ripped of a 21ft Whaler at the Oak Bay Marina last weekend.
Rather than put a notice up to let owners know to be vigilant the
Marina's policy has always been to keep it quiet, it was only by chance
I heard about it.
I'm wondering if this is the policy at other Marinas?
Even dummy security cameras would put most theives off but he won't
even spring for that.
Was thinking of adapting a car alarm to put on the boat and was
wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to alarm a boat?

Cheers
MT

Hey MT,
My fishin partner has an alarm system on his boat. He has alarm switches on everything that can be opened. From the engine access to cupboard doors. The best part is the flashing violet light on the dash. :o It tells the bad boys to stay the hell off the boat. Why mess with an alarmed boat when there are so many others?
When activated, the horn sounds and All the lights blink. Quite a show. It resets automatically. Cheers.
