Does anyone have a formula for salmon weight ie. length plus girth or do you just use a scale, if so what type of scale do you have as I am looking to purchase on.

A close approximation of salmon weights is
Length in inches X Girth in inches [squared] divided by 800 = pounds
Its a lot eiser to just buy a scale, there are a lot available for not much money.
Try to get one that at least says that it`s not going to corrode too quickly.
