I fished inside/outside Gerald on Sunday for about 4 hours from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Lots of jacks and very small Coho from 10ft to 40ft.......other than that not much.
Tried depths from 30 ft. to 230 ft.......along Cottam reef too.
Nada.
One one side I was running a Red Monkey puke flasher.
It was brand new......when I hauled it in it had teeth marks all over it on both sides.
So something down there likes that flasher...... I ran a Super Betsy on the other side.....not a mark on it.
Unfortunately whatever liked the flasher didn't care for :- Irish Creme, Nasty Boy, Green/Glow, Army Truck hoochy, Apex U/V Chartreuse, Pink/Green small Wonder spoon/ small White Pearl spoon or anything else I put down there.
Next time it's Monkey Pukes with the "Qualicum Killer" hoochy on it. (red pink squirt inside a clear U/v body.
Plus maybe Metallic Green/Silver 3" or smaller Coyote spoon.

Seems like it is not only me! Talked to the guy in the FC marina store. Very little (if anything) since mid July, he has a theory, he thinks that dumping all the heavy rocks at the marina breakwater may be scaring them off. Either the sounds resonating through the water or the pollution. Seems like a good theory to me. I'm just happy I'm not the only one! Sounds like there are fish south of Schooner Cove and north of Qualicum just nothing in the middle!

You`re not alone Old-man. We were off French Creek from 10:30 till 1PM yesterday, and then moved to Hornby and fished Tribune Bay and outside Flora Islet for 3 hours with exactly the same results. Lure-washer

Their back! Looks like the fish have returned to French Creek. Shakers by the hundred but some nice fish also. That was a long dry spell lets hope it gets really hot for the FC derby at the end of the month!

By "SC" that would be Schooner Cove, right?
Where would they be jigging for salmon there?
Right out front is all Rockfish Conv. area.......and a good portion of Winchelsea is closed to salmon right now.....

Print out areas open/closed off DFO site. Lots of water is legally fishable. Smiley.
