Thanks to a tip from a member I was able to get into 3 nice cutties this afternoon. 20mph winds didn't make it easy but if I can get back there on a calm day watch out!

Not sure where you were fishing... I used to cast flies for sea-run cutties at a couple spots in the Sidney area. What a gas. The pursuit of the fly was awesome. Don't hear much about this fishery, but it's there and pretty user friendly.

I know exactly the creek mouth you are talking about, I caught my first searun there about 12 years ago - used to be coho in the fall too.

Last I heard there was a chemical spill and cleaned out the whole creek, so I'm not sure if they ever tried to rebuild what few fish they had there.

nothing to huge, but really nice 12-14" - how big have you been seeing them?

I tell it was blowing like crazy when I was there, I could only roll cast with the wind at my back.

Thanks for the tip though, I haven't gone fishing for sea-runs in years.

The token 12-14's are the norm. 16's havent been uncommon and nabbed a 20" on one of those windy nights last week. Plus I have seen a few of those large ones boilin around

hey buddy its been so many years since I've hooked a searun I'll take 12-14 inchers all day and be happy - of course a 20" could be A LOT of fun.

I might sneak out tomorrow if the wind isn't too bad.
