Seriously, like 6 posts and throwing Your Squat. Hmm me thinks he works for DFO!
I ordered two, that way I can wear them to the coast for the next ten years or so.
My 1/5th of a looney! :D

Yo Bonker, it was all in jest. I'm sure you are passionate in your beliefs.
Notice my math (1/5 of $) is not 0.2 cents!

We are all confused and upset with the way DFO is running the Fishery into oblivion, the Tee's may not seem to you, to be serious enough, but they are one of many ways of showing that we are united in our belief that SOMETHING must be done!

Whoa boys,if my seriousness about this matter offended you I am sorry. Maybe I'll just stick to reading and leave the posting alone. Nothing like getting your 6th. post shoved down ones' throat to quiet the spirit.
No Labman,I don't work for D.F.O.
AS far as me misprinting my decimal point for 2 cents, let me lay down so you can put further sh*t on me. :(
Enjoy your shirts, should really help what is a horrible situation. Let me know if you come out with any silly rape shirts.

Hey Keeperbonk,

Don't stop posting, you are entitled your opinion just like we are, and for those that purchased shirts that is our opinion. And meant to be taken lightly.

I don't think anyone shoved your post down your throat, just voiced opinions.

Forums are for discussing different views and sharing information about fishing.

As far as the decimal point, that was funny, meant to lighten the mood. :) Please don't take it the wrong way.

So keep posting and lets see some pictures of those hali :D

And to you as well, Keeperbonk.
I'm sure you'll find that the guy's on here all pretty level headed and full of good info.

Is this really the way to go about things? why not just phone them up and when they answer...hang up? Seems to be just as mature.

Hmmmm.... Seems to have touched a sore spot with you KeeperBonk?
And perhaps it is a tad immature as you point out.
BUT, People are frustrated to the point that the interest in these was much higher than anticipated. The continuous blundering, continuous errors in run predictions based on a proven unreliable system (and no real effort to improve on that) which too often results in excessive unsustainable harvests, catering to the farm industry while ignoring their specific mandate regarding wild stocks, acting outside of the confines of Law then refusing to be accountable when this is pointed out in the court system, and so much more, are exactly as you described in your later post: a most "horrible situation". To top that off, have you ever tried to communicate directly with senior levels of the Department? If so you might understand that their level of interest / response comes very close to your own analogy of phoning to hang up. Really.

So, will the shirts "help" in that matter? Likely not.
It does however find some sense of humor in a situation rapidly approaching desperate, and to some extent indicate the level of frustration and sense of unity that is creating in BC.

And while I am somewhat sorry that I have involved "your squat" with ours, I will be wearing the shirts I ordered for myself with a smile.

For those who are waiting: I spoke with the shop manager moments ago. The shirts will be finished over the weekend, and enroute to me next week. Will letcha know when they land, and make the appropriate arrangements to get them out to all.

Cheers,
Nog

Cheers All,

What a very boring world this would be if we all thought and acted alike. In fact it is this difference that we celebrate (blondes, brunetts or redheads?) that provides our strongest attributes: different ways at looking at the world. It is through this diversity that we are able to overcome almost anything.

I sat back and watched this situation develop, then evolve and know what? Three things jumped out at me. First: very pleased to see - and say - that calmer heads prevailed. Everyone took a step back and evaluated the situation before coming to a reasonable solution. Yup. I am smiling on that one. Also shows great intelligence on all parties. Good on ya! Been on sites where this is not the norm and I left it very quickly. Let's keep FVI a place where respect and calmer tones are the norm!

Second that it seems everyone agreed that there is a huge problem with DFO. We may not be in agreement on how to respond to that problem but the problem has been identified. In most academic research that is a huge and signifcant obstacle that takes years to reach. Combine that with the diversity of opinions on how to respond to that problem and one quickly understands that there is hope as we will figure out how to fix it. Sheer numbers and different approaches will eventually provide the solution to this frustrating problem.

Finally we see just how important a site like FishingVancouverIsland.org really has become. It not only provides a forum to find and seek out the wiley finned fish of BC but it also provides a sane and functional instrument to identify problems within the fishing community (i.e., trap thieves, boat choices or DFO incompetence) and begin to discuss the solutions available or come up with new ones. Before this type of venue was available we were all on our own. The advent of internet sites such as FVI has provided a community where we can effectively communicate solutions and it is in this that we now become a voice of reason and concern for DFO - regardless of which T-shirt we are wearing.

So...wear your T-Shirts with pride. And you can all be assured of one thing: when I phone DFO...I will not be hanging up before I have my say!

Nice Order from the new site! Cool! Between the sites this has been listed on, we have now reached the magic number required to proceed! Sweet!

PLEASE review your info on the list above. Your name may appear more than once in more than one location, as they were listed in the order as received. If you ordered on another site, please appraise me of that so I don't double your order up! Changes and additional orders are do-able until tomorrow morning, then they are locked. This is a one time shot.

The silk screens are already made, and I am providing the coin to get the shirts to The Man today. He'll get this rolling within a matter of days. Suspect we'll see the finished product in hand within a week to ten days.

If you have to bail on your order, please please let me know asap! I am floating this out of my own pocket for now, and really don't wish to end up buying a handful of shirts that end up collecting dust!!

The shirts are running at $ 25.00 per. I will set up distribution points to get them out there, and fire off individual orders as required to those not near one of those. Any that are centrally located that might be willing to help with distribution, please shoot me an Email!!

Payment can be made via personal cheque or Money Order. Send to:

Matt Stabler
4932 Bruce Street
Port Alberni, BC
V9Y 1G8

Once your payment has been received, I will get the shirts to you swiftly as is possible.

Thanks again Folks for the interest and support. It is VERY much Appreciated!

Cheers,
Nog - Now thinking about organizing The Rally!
