I was out yesterday. We started at Beachy Head at first light a worked our way up to Secretary. Got three pinks in the first 5 minutes. Crap! Maybe I didn't bring enough bait! Moved in a bit closer to shore but couldn't find any keeper springs. We must have thrown 30 small springs back. The wind really picked up in the afternoon so we moved to Pedder but it wasn't any better there. More small springs.

We tried bait, spoons, hoochies and even a plug. We heard of a few decent fish caught, but didn't see much caught around us. Anyone else have better luck?

Have anyone been out the last couple of nights? Any new fish arriving? It sounds like it's slowed a bit in Renfew. Maybe they are on their way to Sooke?

I haven't been getting them right on the wall but in that area i've been hooking at least one good fish every trip - of course after its hooked its not always up to me if it makes it in the boat.

I got a esq. anglers net pen fish yesterday, it was very dark but maybe there is more showing?

I was out yesterday and agree with the above reports. We caught some pinks, some very small springs, and a nice non-hatchery coho. We didn't hear of any large springs being caught either.
My son is coming to Victoria tomorrow for 4 days to fish and I am wondering where to take him!
