i think its worth to try again this weekend, i know i will. fished demamiel on friday. got 3 coho. the strangest thing happened though. i spotted one small coho underneath an undercut bank and started jigging my fly around in front of it. sure enough the little guy swam up and nailed it. when i beached the fish i noticed that there was something off about this fish. with further observation i found it was missing a pectoral fin, but it was still bleeding from were it had been torn off. i have no idea what happened to that poor guy. otter? bear? redneck? i dont know. by the way they were taking big blue flies.

I was under the bridge this afternoon. Didn't see any fish out there. Did get to try out my waders though. Sun was shining too. All in all a good day.

And I did find someone living under the bridge though. Don't know how they can stand the sound of cars driving above

Paid my dollar and took a stroll around the campground and saw a number of fish in the creek.

Tried to find that other lot you guys were talking about, by the sunriver entrance? Apparently I'm not only a bad fisherman, but a bad navigator too. I found the sunriver entrance, but I've walked down that trail before and couldn't find a reasonable path to the water.

Oh well, maybe I'll have more luck in Campbell River next weekend.

After you go over the Damamiel bridge its the first left at the top of the hill "Sunriver estates". There is a bear proof garbage can on the right side of Philips road about 100 ft passed the sunriver estates entrance.... that is the trail you want. It goes down a bunch of steps then follows the river up.... its a fair walk
