Fished a couple of hours out of Cheanuh yesterday, lots of boats but not much action. We had one fish around 6lbs 160' deep in 250' water with the UV gear. Out of all the boats I didn't see another fish hooked and just one other small guy back at the cleaning station.

Good news is my brother who doesn't fish much got ours and surprisingly it put up a good fight with a couple of nice runs. Nice day on the water so no complaints!

hey newf - I should be fishing around church/bedfords tomorrow, sounds like you might be further west. If you make it out this way look for my little boat, 17' K&C with blue top and single merc on the back.

Looks like great water tomorrow!

ya good to see you out there Newf but it was dead slow out there. We made passes by church, trap, secretary, bluffs, otter point and muir creek.

A couple of maybe bites and one on briefly off church and that was it. It was an amazing day out there though, we rocked t-shirts all day. I couldn't believe more boats weren't out there to enjoy the weather.

fishing off sooke right now is dead slow or maybe reverse, anyway been out three times the fish has moved south. However the pack will come back for the whole group have can move many miles overnight.Find the herring ,you will get the fish.talking with others same thing,a few juveniles is all i was able to dredge up.This is winter fishing,it can be very hit and miss, however when they are around it is not hard to catch many with consistency.location is the key to winter fishing for they will hit on just about anything that glows.

i fished from Sheringham to Beechey, tried everything and only a few juveniles to show for three days effort,no keepers .Commercial boats are out so this is a good reason for dead water.i set up a couple of hundred yards off way out and watched them pull juveniles in one after the other,i suppose these are incidentals, otherwise known as crab bait, this type of shi* sucks bad but what can i do.I know those people and what they are doing is sad but completely legal.I wish they would stay out of the staights.it's all about money and hard times means hard fishing. In my day we didn't have to do that.Thank fish farms for this.Ss out.ps going out sat, probably gonna head south, follow the fish.
