Island outfitters has a smoking price on the SVOP course right now for march 6-8th.
I forget the exact price but its $380 or something close to that, a good $200 cheaper then I've seen it elsewhere. Very cheap and its good for life so if you've thought about taking it and are local then I'd jump on it.

Cheers Codfather,

The best course and price in the Nanaimo area is Safer Oceans Systems. They run courses almost weekly right now and they can provide your Med 3, SVOP, and ROC-M.

Cannot go wrong with Peter.

finished the course and holy Sh*t it was a snoozer - I was expecting it to be dry but wow I almost slit my wrists, thank god its for life.

I gotta say, they need to come up with something different. While our instructor was very knowledgeable and a great guy, he had no practical experience with small vessels, nor did the course even focus on small vessels.

i know its not a fishing guide course but to say this course is geared towards small vessels is a joke.

But its done with, time to move on with life but I can't help but feel like this course stole a little bit of my soul, it was that dull!!

Peter at Safer Ocean Systems is awesome! I did my MedA2 and ROC-MC with him...he's an awesome guy, as nice as you'll find, and has A LOT of great stories to tell which makes you realize that anything is possible on the water and the courses do help a little bit out there!
