Hogwash. Complete and utter nonsense. It is well documented that the halibut fishery is well managed with regards to the TAC. the issue is strictly the division of the TAC that is in question.

This is not a decimated resource.

Cool it man. The piece you quoted is a comment regarding the east coast fishery.

The original concept of this thread was to comment on peoples willingness to vote someone out of office because of this issue, and thats it. Even if that individual isn't directly responsible for whatever the grievance is.
I happen to also think the allocation is unfair and unbalanced. I am simply unwilling to bounce a government over a single issue as some apparantly were.
Its all a moot point anyhow.

how do you know what the original concept of this thread is?, the original concept is that it is time for change, change meaning get rid of duncan and vote in ronna-rae, the title of the thread says nothing about halibut, the title could mean many different things, most importantly it means get lost duncan, please tell me what he has done for the north island lately or ever for that matter, because he is a cabinet minister?, nothing special, the reason this ass made it back in was because of a lot of the older ppl down in the comox valley, plain and simple, also, why would you want duncan elected and possibly be our next fisheries minister when he is clearly a friend of the commercial fisherman first and the sporties can have whats left, hold his feet to the fire you say?, YOU F*&^ING BETTER BELIEVE IT, but what happens whe we are dismissed and we get the short end of the stick as usual?, revolution?, violent protests?, take them to court?, cause thats what its coming to, we as sporties and Canadians are no longer going to see our resources turned into private for profit for a select few, if they try and go down that road and take that route, well, lets just say it aint gonna be pretty, in more ways than one.....so why dont you cool it, and go have a coffee with your donut, fritter, lol....holmes*

Wow its too bad your having such difficulty with this. You obviuosly angry. Violent protests ?? Just like we saw during the G20 summit, knuckleheads running around destroying other peoples property. Is that really your answer to getting your own way. You really do need to chill out. I certainly hope you don't mean physical violence towards others. You need to get involved in a positive way and use that enrgy to affect change not turn to violence. Thats not Canadian and I think even your candidate would agree.
Mr. Duncan got re-elected again because more people in the entire riding voted for him again. To me that means that he and his party continue to represent the values of of a larger slice of the entire riding more so than did the others. Thats democracy....thats Canadian.
I think I am done with this for now. It was enjoying a spirited debate but it's obviously run its course.
Its good to see however that you were able to bring yourself to acknowledge that the experience of age and its wisdom carried the day.
Tight lines to all.

fritter, dont mistake passion for anger, but yes i am angry at the state certain things are in, such as halibut, lice farms, the continued privatization of our natural resources, im also passionate about them as well, the g20 wasnt all the protesters, the authorities didnt help themselves, they created a lot of the problems by over reacting, and what im saying is, there is only so much crap groups can take b4 they snap, and once they snap, then who knows what will happen.....holmes*
